There are no solid colours in nature; the colours that surround us in the natural world are filled with endless variation. Their textures, tones and values change with the weather, season and time of day. This infinity of colour is what inspires me, and the colours that I dye. The techniques I use in dyeing are adapted through years of experimentation (quite a few surprises) and unceasing observation of the world around me.

Behind each potful of yarn there is a lengthy process of contemplation. Each batch of yarn develops gradually as layers of dye are slowly added. I let my colours grow and change to suit what is happening in the dye pot each day. Relying on instinct and curiosity to achieve a beautiful and unique result each time. No two skeins are alike.
