our sweater KAL is nearly finished!

When the VIOLA sweater KAL began a few months back, I had every intention of announcing the plans here on the blog. It's not surprising that I'm only finding the time to sit down and write about it when the KAL is almost over. I will always believe that I can fit more into a day / week / month than is humanly possible. I just like to think that I am an optimistic sort of person

In keeping with my delusionally optimistic personality, I have only just accepted that I won't be finishing my Ando Cardigan before the KAL deadling of June 30th. I'm okay with this, because I wasn't going to enter myself in the prize draw anyway...how silly would that be?!

I have SO enjoyed knitting this lovely pattern. It's clear simple and easy to follow; something I need these days because my scattered mind is always in 1000 places at once. I've chosen to use Viola Cashmere + Silk in colourway DOVE and am really happy with the yarn and pattern pairing as well. Whenever I do manage to finish this project, I am going to love it!

I am beyond excited and a little blown away by all of the stunning finished garments that have been shared already. A couple of knitters have allowed me to share their projects here as well (thank you!)...

This thing of beauty was knit by Julie,  (JKLD11 on Ravelry). The pattern is Polwarth, from the talented Ysolda Teague and Julie knit it in VIOLA cahsmere + silk in the colourway MINERAL. If you click over to the SWEATER KAL thread in our Ravelry group, you will see that Julie has just cast on her third seriously beautiful KAL garment. I am in awe and want to copy all of her ideas!

And this gorgeous sweater was knit by Kei (finnsmydog on Ravelry). The pattern is Vneck Boxy by lovely Joji Locatelli. Kei used Viola Mohair Lace and Polwarth + Alpaca held double, both in the colourway SEA STORM. I love everything about this sweater. I'd probably wear it every day and love that Kei chose to put these two yarns together at the same time as I did in my Soiree pullover!

I'll be drawing 3 random 'winners' on June 30th. There are some good things to be won as well...all yarn of course. For all the details click over to the KAL chatter thread in our Ravelry group. There is still time for a quick knitter to swoop in there with a finished garment too, or at least gather some inspiration from the beautiful collection of projects!

I will be sharing the results of my random draw on July 1st and contacting 'winners' about their prize of choice.

Thanks very much to everyone who has participated - whether it be actively in the group our quietly on the sidelines. I am so happy that you have joined in, and until June 30th, I will continue to chip away and my Ando Cardigan and to enjoy watching your finished knits appear!
