Knits About Winter shop update!
At last, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, I am here to share our plans for updating the shop with yarn so that you can knit the projects in Knits About Winter! Before I get into the details, a short message to you from me…
I am happily overwhelmed by the amazing reception Knits About Winter is receiving around the knitting world. Honestly, I’m gobsmacked. The most heartfelt thank you goes out to knitters and friends, both old and new, for the enthusiasm and support you have shown for Knits About Winter. Every day I am grateful to belong to this close knit, yet global community of people who love wool. We are an intelligent, conscientious, resourceful, creative and free thinking group of humans, for whom I have great respect and admiration. I am all the more proud that the very same community is standing in support of this book and it’s ideas. Sincerely, thank you.
Now, the yarn talk!
In all honesty, the awesome response to Knits About Winter has knocked me and the Viola team sideways just a little bit. I’m delighted by the response, but have been derailed en route to restocking the shop just a little. I apologize for the delay! I do think that the wait is going to be worth it, because the extra time we have taken is allowing us to put together a plan that will suit the needs of any many knitters as possible!
Here what we are working on at the moment…
We have received a lot of interest in kits, and kits are absolutely going to happen! We aren’t going to be able to offer kits for every pattern in the book, so have decided to focus on patterns that use more than one yarn or colour. Hopefully this decision will make your shopping experience a little bit easier and less stressful. Kits will be available for pre-order, in limited quantities, in early December. I will be providing more details, and giving you lots of lead time before the pre-orders go live.
you can expect the following patterns in kits…
For ease of planing, both at our end, and at yours, we are going to stagger updates by yarn type and project, about 1-2 weeks apart. We hope this will take a little pressure off of you, as you will only need to tune into updates that are focused on the project you want to knit or yarn you want to use. It will also allow us to be much more efficient behind the scenes. For example, one update may feature Soirée kits, Snowdrift Kits, Polwarth + Alpaca and Mohair Lace while the next would be made up of Eastwind Kits, Skyhill Kits and Shadow DK, and on and on like that!
I’ll check in with updates for you as December approaches, sharing previews and details along the way. It is going to be an extremely busy time here at Viola HQ, but I could not be happier about this work and can’t wait to get stuck into it.
